Are you currently in therapy working towards controlling your bulimia? I know it must be really hard trying to deal with your mother as it seems she isn't acting very supportive of you during this time, but as a mom it must be very tough from her perspective seeing you struggling with an ED. Be patient with her and make sure you are getting the help you need to get better. This does not make you abnormal, it makes you flawed, just like every other human on this earth. It is all about working on your flaw and not letting them take over you.

Wishing you strength.

I know how you feel, when I lived at home I felt like I was so alone. My family didnt know about my ED or cutting and still dont. But now that I live on my own, there is a whole new set of issues...let's just say being alone that long can really get your mind thinking too much. No one can truly understand ED unless you have it or had it...it's a really fucked up disease but remember you can only control your reaction not her actions...hang in there :)

It is hard when your parents don't understand. My parents just act like it doesn't exist, but every time I'm with them I know they are monitoring how much I eat or how often I go to the bathroom. You have us to talk with & support you. Have you tried looking for a support group in your area?

Parents get sensitive because they think that because you are sick it is because of their parenting. They don't want to admit that they may have been the cause so they denie it. They will never be on the same page. You have to realise that getting better is not about getting their love, but loving yourself and being healthy and balanced.
